Hope Fully offers Aviations Professionals Therapy. Tom McSpadden is one of our Licensed Professional Counselors and a fellow pilot that specializes in aviations professionals therapy.

A career as a professional pilot is of course rewarding, but can also present unique challenges both professionally and personally when addressing mental health issues. Unfortunately, there are many obstacles that discourage pilots from reaching out for the help they or their family members need. As a fellow aviator, Tom McSpadden, LPC understands the unique demands of the aviation industry, the pressures it can put on your family and concerns about protecting your medical certificate and careers. In addition to being a pilot, Tom McSpadden, LPC also has many years of counseling experience working with fellow pilots, the FAA and with clients in both hospital and clinical setting.

Although Tom McSpadden is an Licensed Professional Counselor, he also has more than 40 years of flying experience as a USAF aviator and airline pilot. In addition to understanding the unique environment and demands of a professional pilot, Tom has extensive experience running a major airline pilot union program that addresses the mental health needs of pilots and their family members. He has also gained key insights as a committee member and sub-committee chairman working with the FAA to address the growing mental health needs of airline pilots

As a pilot, Tom recognizes it can be a difficult decision to reach out for the professional help you need to make your life better. However, as a fellow aviator, he understands that the complex environment is not forgiving of a troubled or distracted mind.
