Being a well-adjusted, stable teenager can sometimes be difficult, but it doesn't have to seem impossible. Your teen may encounter many obstacles in this season of life. Counseling offers the opportunity for your teen to discover and learn practical skills that can help them navigate and manage their world and their emotions with greater communication and confidence.

Some reasons teens come to Hope Fully for counseling:

  • Anxiety and/or depression

  • Relationship/peer problems

  • Stress Management

  • Grief/loss

  • Self injury

  • Trauma

  • Anger and impulse issues

  • Social skills

  • ADD/ADHD

  • Drug/alcohol issues

Our staff at HopeFully Counseling want to help your adolescent adjust to a rapidly approaching adult world, so that they may transition smoothly, begin developing strong and effective ways of coping and relating to the world around them, and gain a sense of stability and clarity in an unstable, confusing time of life.

Adolescence is a relatively long season of intense change — emotionally, physically, socially, and mentally. Everything becomes engulfed by a heightened sense of self and confusion in regards to how teens should interact with a more difficult and complicated world. Adolescence is the doorway to adulthood (more like a very long hallway), and it can feel overwhelming. Sometimes your teen just needs a little help adjusting.

Teen therapy is different from child or adult therapy.

According to countless studies by some of the world's leading researchers, the areas of the human brain that regulate self-control, emotional response, reasonable thought and judgment, and even organizational patterns and skills, are all changing rapidly from the ages of 13-19. This starts to make sense when you observe a teenager's sometimes reckless behavior or wild mood swings. Our specialized approach helps teens make sense of their thoughts amid these rapid changes, feel more empowered, and establish hope.

If your teen is struggling from a mental health disorder or just needs a little help stabilizing in a difficult season, please feel free to contact one of our Licensed Counselors.
